I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a baby at any stage of pregnancy / postpartum is heartbreaking. The impacts that it can have on your physical, emotional and mental health is huge. You deserve safe and professional guidance to help you heal physically and emotionally that is sensitive to your needs and understanding of your situation. 

I can help you to feel less alone as you heal and guide you to feel safe and connected to your body and the world again.

  • General musculoskeletal aches and pain from jaw tension, neck to lower back pain.

  • noticed or have concerns about prolapse symptoms

  • or just want to gain a better understanding of your changing body, hormones and pelvic floor function.


WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect a personalised treatment approach that is sensitive to your needs. I have considered the impact of your nervous system and the treatment studio is a stand alone log cabin which provides a safe and calm environment surrounded by fields and away from any hospital or ‘normal’ clinical environment that may otherwise be triggering.

These sessions combine the principles of Physiotherapy assessment with the practice of functional retraining, identifying muscle imbalances correcting them, regaining stability and allowing optimal function and includes an optional internal pelvic floor examination, this is optional and may be something that we talk about but take a few sessions to do depending on when and if you feel ready.

There are many factors that effect your healing and so I work with you holistically to support you to build strength, relieving tension, reduce pain, relieving pelvic floor dysfunction (such as incontinence or prolapse), assists with scar healing and helps you to balance your hormones through lifestyle medicine. I combine hands on treatment whilst teaching you practical techniques such as massage, posture and positioning to help heal from, manage and prevent future problems.

Although a fundamental component is rebuilding your strength and fitness it is not as simple as just getting back to the gym. Other factors such as processing and healing from trauma, work, relationships, caring for others, stress, sleep, diet, hydration, rest, and hormones all play a part in how we heal and recover. When it comes to healing your body there is so much conflicting advice out there no wonder so many women feel confused about what is the correct and ‘safe’ way to recover and doubt wether they are “doing it right” or what we should expect as our new ‘normal’. Expect to be treated as an individual and get the treatment you deserve.

  • up to 1 hour video consultation

  • 1 hour 15 min in-person assessment and treatment (after 6-8 week check up with GP)

  • 50min follow up treatment

VIDEO CONSULTATION

You deserve to be heard and listened to and your first consultation allows time for this. It will take place online via video call in the comfort of your own home. I will spend time listening to your story. I will also ask about your past medical history, health, fitness and family history. I will listen and if appropriate will offer professional yet practical lifestyle, movement and exercise advice. Supporting you physically and mentally to heal and rebuild after perinatal trauma and loss.

YOUR FIRST IN-PERSON ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT SESSION

Once you have had a video consultation (and if appropriate after your 6-8 week check-up with the GP) you will be offered an in-person consultation there I will do a detailed physical check of your body including your posture, ribs, check your abdominal muscles and any healing scar tissue. You will also be offered an optional internal pelvic floor examination to check strength, tightness, prolapse and any scar tissue. Depending on how you are feeling this does not have to be carried out on the first assessment or at all as the most important thing is that you feel comfortable.

FOLLOW-UP TREATMENT SESSION

Hands-on treatment is weaved in throughout the first and follow-up in-person session to relieve any pain symptoms and help you to relax. Whilst it is tailored to your individual needs it often includes some soft tissue massage of your abdominals, lower back, pelvis and upper legs. It may also include spinal mobilisations, relaxation techniques and exercises.

The first 1-hour follow-up rehab or treatment session is included in the package.

If you require any additional treatment or follow-up sessions this will be charged at the hourly rate of £85 or 90minutes at £126

I am also the co-founder of an online platform which supports you physically and emotionally following birth trauma, miscarriage, TFMR and baby loss.

We meet online every month for a live class hosted by either our myself (a women’s health physiotherapist and clinical pilates instructor) or our somatic practitioner, yoga and coach Kelly.
