What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the treatment and diagnosis of injury, overuse problems, or disease, by non surgical means but it is often an essential part of your rehabilitation program to prepare and help you recovery from surgery. Michelle aims to help you recover from your injuries. Whether that be; getting back into competitive sports, improving your performance, recovering from surgery, adapting with disability or dealing with those everyday aches and pains from a day in the office.

Watch Michelle in the below video explain all about what physiotherapy is.

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy specialist in sports injuries and rehabilitation

On your initial appointment you can expect a detailed assessment. Michelle uses a biopsychosocial approach. Which means she really gets to know the person behind the injury and considers the biological, psychological and social factors and how their complex interactions help us get a holistic understanding of your health, illness and injury recovery. She will work with you to insure you have a full understanding of your injury and treatment plan which you could expect to include a combination of management advice, exercises and manual therapy.

She is also an athlete and has completed several triathlons including Ironman. She can relate to the demands of training and how frustrating injury can be having recovered from various injuries herself. Whilst she appreciates that to reach optimal performance athletes often push their bodies hard in training and competition. Michelle will works with you and where appropriate, with your consent, she will liaise with your coaches and other health care professionals to ensure a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to your rehabilitation. Helping you optimise your performance.

Whatever your physical ambitions, Michelle is dedicated to helping you recover from injuries and prevent future problems to ensure you achieve your own personal goals.
